Merrifield Family
Merrifield Elementary is named for the Merrifields, a pioneer family from the late 1800s who owned and farmed the land on which the school was built. Several members of the Merrifield family served on the school board in early years, and the family also donated the land for the original brick building that is now Central Elementary.
